Below is a message from Ben Stokes (Studio Savvy) and Glenda Yee (Ready Set Dance) which clearly sets out what YOU CAN DO to help us get you back to dance sooner.

To be heard by our Health Minister Brad Hazzard and our Premier Gladys Berejiklian, and all the relevant authorities, we need a lot of voices, unified with a single strong message.

The best way to achieve this is for studio owners, teachers and their dance communities to email their local MP, Gladys Berejikllian and Brad Hazzard.

I have written a form letter (docs.google.com/document/d/18SqmZmcXPbFfuVI7olGlV8Duc-eo1rvWHbCXPgvhI_0/edit?usp=sharing), which can be simply be copied and pasted into an email, or the contact forms on the websites for Gladys (www.nsw.gov.au/premier-of-nsw/contact-premier) and Brad (www.nsw.gov.au/nsw-government/ministers/minister-for-health-and-medical-research).

The letter includes a link to the petition that I wrote a few weeks ago, which now has over 26,000 signatures!

From the advice we have received we think this is the best and most effective course of action. Please take a moment to send the letter, because the more copies of this that they receive, the more attention it will get.

And even more importantly, please take the time to reach out to your own dance studio community to ask them to do the same. The power of our network is strong when we unite together.

Timeline PhotosPerhaps as a silent protest we should all put a big print in our windows.

If every actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, ballet teacher / master, directors, costume makers, light designer, painter, designer, stage hand, technician, physio, writer, musician (and I probably forget a few!!!) would put these up, I think one would be amazed how many people work in the arts!

Please... SHARE!

This is for QLD studios 😀*** CURRENT ADVICE FOR DANCE STUDIOS ***

As you are aware some students will be going back to schools in Queensland next week, this has prompted Dance Studio Owners to ask if they can start dance classes for these age groups. The current advice is that private dance studios still need to fall in line with the federal government’s advice around indoor sports centres and gyms and remain shut, but rest assured Ausdance QLD (and the Ausdance network around Australia) is working hard with State governments to get us all back to work safely as soon as practical. Stay up to date with sector specific advice by joining Ausdance QLD (it's free). Real-time advice is distributed and available to members as advice changes.
